Today, the Department of Justice proposed a regulation purporting to grant the Attorney General the power to "suspend state bar ethics investigations into current and former DOJ lawyers." Given that state bar ethics investigations are state investigations, what exactly will be accomplished if this new rule is added to the Federal Register?
